Today, March 30th, is National Doctor’s Day! This day was made to show our doctors how grateful we are for them. Doctors give us important diagnosis, treatment and care for ourselves and our families. Their goal is to keep us well, but when we are sick, there are no other people more important to us than our doctors.
Celebrating Doctors’ Day goes date back to March 30, 1933. Eudora Brown Almond of Winder, Georgia started Doctor’s on the anniversary of the first day that general anesthesia was used in surgery. However, the first National Doctor’s Day was not celebrated for almost 60 years. On March 30, 1958, the United States House of Representatives started the idea of celebrating Doctors’ Day. Then finally in 1990, the congress and the senate passed the bill to set up National Doctors Day to be celebrated on March 30, and it was signed by President George Bush. What are you going to do on this National Doctor’s Day to celebrate your doctors? Let us know!
