Bills In Congress

The first congressional session for this year is about to end. When a bill is being talked about, it is said that the bill is on the floor. After the bill is talked about, the Senate and the House of Representatives vote on it. Here are a few of the bills for Northern California that are on the floor during this congressional session:

  • The bill about water quality and what needs to be done to keep our water clean was talked about and worked on in the beginning of April.
  • The bill for the rights of people with disablities, homelessness and low-income to have food, safe shelter and clothing was also on the floor in early April.
  • An individual health care coverage bill was voted on in March.
  • A bill for fixing sidewalks and making sure they are accessible for people with disabilities went on the floor to be voted on as well.
  • The bill about health care coverage and Medi-Cal eligibility and enrollment in California was talked about and worked on this month.
  • Another bill about nitrate in the groundwater also went through Congress this month.
  • We will find out the vote on these bills and on the budget in the next few months.
