Spring Is On Its Way!

March 20th is the first day of spring!  The weather's warming up a little and calling us outside to enjoy the beauty around us.  Springtime is often another time to celebrate new beginnings and fresh starts.  Some people enjoy opening all their windows and doors to air out their homes and do spring cleaning to get rid of stuff they don't need or use any more.  Others begin to prepare their gardens by turning the soil, pulling the weeds out, and adding fertilizer and/or a mulch to make the  soil more healthy and ready for the seeds.  Many peopl

e also like going on vacation and visiting other places because the weather is not to cold or too hot.  I moved up here last spring, and since we found a house with a huge garden last summer, we are enjoying preparing the soil for our first big garden at this house.  Our neighborhood also holds a neighborhood yard sale on one Saturday in May, so the neighbors who participate are setting things aside that they want to put out to sell.  What do you like about springtime?  What do you like to do in the spring that you don't do at other times of the year?

    Hi Jessica,

I love spring. It represents to renewal of life. Christ’s death and resurrection are good examples of the renewal of life. The renewal of life is also why we clean our house and open the doors to allow the fresh air in.

I believe spring has been particularly beautiful this year. All the trees are blooming. The Stella Magnolias and the Almond trees have been most impressive. I have started planning my garden and I have already planted some more hardy vegetables. I have planted broccoli, cabbage, Swiss chard, lettuce, spinach and onions.
