President’s Day is always the third Monday in February. Why was this third Monday chosen to be President’s Day? Maybe this is because the third Monday of February always lands in between the birthdays of 2 amazing presidents, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. George Washington’s birthday was February 22nd and Abraham Lincoln’s birthday was February 12th, so the Monday in between their birthdays was set as the day to celebrate our presidents! President’s Day was set aside to honor all of the U.S. presidents.
Which President is your favorite? Character is big for me, because someone who has integrity and an honorable character will look out for the good of others and will value what others give for our safety and freedom like our military does. George Bush was an honorable man with great integrity, and you could see in his eyes the value he held for people and their safety and freedom. I am not a supporter of free rides, probably because, even though I have cerebral palsy, I worked and paid my way through undergrad and grad school until I had my Masters degree in Special Education. George Bush valued and supported the freedom for every person to excel to their full potential and be rewarded in it. He also valued protecting these freedoms from those who hinder them through their own choices not to reach their positive potential. Which president is your favorite and why? We want to know!
