National Date Nut Bread Day was set for September 8th as well as today, December 22nd. I am going with today because more people have December 22nd as National Date Nut Bread Day, and because it fits better with the holiday season since date nut bread is a popular and tasty bread for the holidays. It is the perfect holiday bread because it has nuts, which is protein, but it does not have a lot of the sugar. Date nut bread is easy to make, so you can make it yourself, or buy some at the store. If you are allergic to dates or nuts, you can put something else into the mix instead! Substituting ingredients is part of the fun of baking, so go enjoy baking and/or eating some date nut bread!
