Meteor Watch Day

I love science, so this caught my eye. Today is Meteor Watch Day! Meteor Watch Day is always on June 30th. Meteors are space dust and ice that come into the earth’s atmosphere. They can be as small as pieces of dust. They come into the atmosphere and are going so fast that they burn up and look like a streak of light across the night sky. Or they can burn out immediately and will look like a flash of light. So if the skies are clear, go outside tonight and look for meteors to streak across the sky. You can see a meteor any time of the year, but one of the best times to see meteors is during a meteor shower. Several meteor showers happen each year, but the best one is the Perseid Meteor shower that happens every August. Go outside tonight with your camera and see if you can capture a meteor!
