Today is President’s Day! It began in 1968 as a day to celebrate and honor our presidents. The presidents we think of most are George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, and Presidents’ Day lands on the Monday between their birthdays. This might be why we think of them most often. Federal employees, banks, and post offices observe this holiday and take the day off, but most other businesses and industries stay open and do not recognize it as a paid holiday. What are you going to do this Presidents’ Day? I have to work, but when I get home I’m going to take a shower, have dinner and relax!
