Square Dancing Day!

Who knew that November 29th is Square Dancing Day?  Square dancing can be a very fun thing to do after a Thanksgiving feast!  Square dancing was brought into our country by the English, Irish, and Scottish settlers.  Square dances were often held after a dinner.  They are still popular in the South and in the western rural areas, and also with senior citizens.  Square dances are where couples dance around in circles or square patterns.  It is lots and lots of fun!  Square dancing is also very good exercise and has health benefits for people of all ages.  Do you know how to square dance?  If you would like to learn to square dance, take a square dancing class!  I learned how to square dance in one of my college classes, and it was great fun!
