We just held our first Vote Fair last week, and we want to thank everyone who came! There were seventy people who came plus the people who had booths. League of Women Voters came and talked with many people who asked questions. The Twelve Visions party was there, and the Republican party was there. Disability Rights California, Area 2 Board, and RABA were also there. Theater in the Now from Chico did an amazing job with their skit on voting. They told all about the history of voting and also explained the different beliefs of the main political parties. Thanks to all who participated and helped with setting up, cooking lunch, and packing up! It was a great day!
What a wonderful event you organized. I have been involved in events for community for thirty years, the last event I can recall where there was so much excitment was one of our first People First Conference in the mid 80’s.
Thank you for embracing the Right TO Vote. You are making a difference in our region as people with a variety of disabilities stand with America and exercise, (many for the first time) their democratic right to express their views and find a voice.
Your work is execeptional, and I am very proud of you and your work. Laura Larson
