Freedom to Read Week

I know this observed in Canada and not the United States, but it should be! Reading opens doors of opportunity and also opens up new worlds and ways of thinking to the reader. No matter what your reading ability is, reading is a privilege because not everyone on this planet has the freedom to learn to read or have books. Have you seen The Book Thief yet? It is a story about a girl in Nazi Germany who loves books but is not allowed to have books. For book lovers, this is a sad movie. I love to read, and some of my favorite books are The Robe by Lloyd Douglas, Dear and Glorious Physician by Taylor Caldwell, Face to Face With God by Bill Johnson, and Mountain Meadow by John Buchan. What are some of your favorite reads? Tell us! We want to know!
