On August 26, 1920, President Woodrow Wilson and Congress passed the 19th Amendment, which officially gave women the right to vote. Women’s Equality Day was official made for August 26th as a way to celebrate the passing of this 19th Amendment. Women had fought for the right to vote since our country had become a nation. The passing of this amendment was a result of the fight women had stood strong in for so many years. This day must be celebrated! Being thankful for the right to vote and looking for ways to support the equality of women are some ways we can celebrate this day! How can you celebrate this day? We want to know!
