New Year Means New Discoveries!

This is a new year for new discoveries and new beginnings. I have already made a few new connections with people whom I get to enjoy similar things! I also discovered something new today that I did not know before! I just learned that on January

7, 1610, the astronomer Galileo Galilei found four of Jupiters moons through his telescope. A telescope lets us see the planets and stars that are billions of miles away in space. He saw 3 stars lined up across Jupiter, and when he looked through the telescope the next night, he saw that the stars were in a different position around Jupiter. So after seeing the stars in different places around Jupiter each night, he realized that they were Jupiters moons that orbit Jupiter!

Here is a link that shows pictures from way out in space, and it zooms in all the way to an atom in a leaf! Click on the picture and enjoy!
